The meeting offers a unique opportunity for students to engage directly with one of the most iconic figures in the history of modern technology—a man whose work laid the foundations for the digital age we live in. A world-renowned physicist\, inventor\, and entrepreneur\, Federico Faggin is universally recognized as the father of the world’s first microprocessor\, the Intel 4004\, developed in 1971.   His brilliance did not stop at hardware: we also owe him the development of MOS Silicon Gate technology and pioneering work on image sensors and the touchpad—innovations that made the birth of modern computers and smartphones possible. Throughout his career\, he has received prestigious global honors\, including the National Medal of Technology and Innovation\, presented to him by President Barack Obama in 2010.   Today\, through his foundation\, Faggin dedicates his research to the study of consciousness\, exploring the boundary between artificial intelligence and the uniqueness of the human being.
